It is an association of children and youngsters that meet to sing. Everybody is responsible of him or herself and show respect to the others. Everybody is necessary but not essential.

Liturgical songs or sung prayers need an extrovert attitude to transmit faith trough voice, otherwise it is only an artistic emotion that becomes pointless. Sung prayers ask for certain material conditions which will allow the prayers to get to the soul of others. These are:

a physical attitude transmitting religious emotion a liturgical tunic that is the symbol of spiritual reality master the interpretation techniques.

Each choir rehearses a lot. A group of singers can't improvise, everything needs practice. Some choirs spend more time serving liturgical parties in churches, cathedrals and schools.

It would take a lot of time praying to learn what a singer learns trough voice, heart and feelings. Singing is a discipline that when taught properly, becomes a spiritual discipline. It is a future proposal that is as old as faith.

Our aim is clear: "to sing for God's peace", giving our best using our voices and being proud of our willing to serve liturgy without wanting anything in return. Moreover, we agree with Sant Agusti: "who sings prays twice".

Churches offer the possibility to make activities more dynamic. Joining PUERI-CANTORES makes the more consistent. We attach a fragment written by priest Pere Matamala from the tenth PUERI MAGAZINE, talking about the (escolania) of Sant Feliu de Guixols:

"I am refering to the integration into the international christian movement, of little singers called PUERI CANTORES. Being part of this group that has got branches reaching everywhere was a gift for the "escolania", a great source of benefit. This big family brought widened horizons, promoted brotherhood and it learned from the others too. This made this family more consistent."

PUERI CANTORES are committed people; they are more conscious of the pleasure of singing more than of the service they are making while singing. This "unconscience" from the singer is good, healthy, because it represents happiness over commitment, even though the commitment exists.
